Topic: How the 2014 National Elections will Impact Your Business Strategy
Chris Hart joined Investment Solutions as head of market and economic research in August 2007and has since been appointed chief strategist within the investment team. He was previously a senior financial market economist with Absa Capital.
Hart's main research focus is analysing financial markets domestically and abroad with the aim of advising the investment team on enhancing portfolio returns and identifying portfolio risk.
As chief strategist, Hart is also responsible for client liaison and engagement with the broader Alexander Forbes group. He has presented papers at numerous conferences in SA and abroad and is also a company spokesman on economic issues and financial markets.
Hart studied at the University of the Witwatersrand and is a volunteer with St John Ambulance, of which he is the South African commander.
Bonang Mohale

Bonang is currently the Chairman and Country GM: Commercial of Shell South Africa (Pty) Limited, where he is Chairman of the boards of Shell South Africa Holdings (Pty) Ltd; Shell South Africa Energy (Pty) Ltd; Shell South Africa Marketing (Pty) Ltd and Shell South Africa Refinery (Pty) Ltd. He also has responsibilities for their Aviation, Marine and Lubricants global businesses and operationally accountable for their Retail; Fuels & Bitumen; Supply & Distribution classes of businesses as well as Legal; HR; Safety (HSSE) and Transformation classes of functions.
Until 31 December 2008, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Drake & Scull FM SA (Pty) Ltd, a Facilities Management company owned by the Tsebo Outsourcing Group. Until May 2003, he was CHIEF EXECUTIVE: SHARED SERVICES AND ASSOCIATED COMPANIES of Sanlam; a member of
the Exco; alternate director of the Sanlam Limited main board; chairman of the board of TASC; a director of Innofin; Gensec Property Services and Fundamo. Until 2002, he was the CHIEF EXECUTIVE: Corporate Marketing, Sanlam. Until August 2001, he was the EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT at South African Airways (SAA) responsible for Strategic Alliances, Network Management and Global Sales. From 1996, he was the MANAGING DIRECTOR of OTIS (PTY) LTD – the world’s biggest and oldest elevator company. After spending four years at Wits Medical School, he acquired Business and Management experience by spending more than ten years in the pharmaceutical industry progressing through various positions. In 1994, he joined Sandoz Products (Pty) Limited (now Novartis) as HEAD: Public Affairs and Communications Department and a member of the Exco, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

Topic: Risk Mitigation in Strategy Development: A Comprehensive Approach to Business Resilience
Mr Volker von Widdern is the 2013 IRMSA Awards Risk Manager of the Year Winner. Volker von Widdern joined Marsh SA as Director – Marsh Advanced Risk Solutions (MARS) in October 2002 and has established an integrated risk finance, captive advisory, strategic and operational risk consultancy. He is a member of the Marsh SA Board, and serves on various Committees. He is responsible for the risk consulting practices in South Africa and the Middle East.
Volker is responsible for the strategic development of the Middle East risk consulting practices, and is a member of the MRC Global Senior Leadership Group, based in the EMEA region, representing various global projects. He is actively engaged in the development and rollout of the specialist skills sets for various consultancy practices in Southern Africa.
Before joining Marsh, Volker was CEO of Guardrisk, where he led the growth of this life and non-life insurance group from its early stages to becoming a R2 billion group.
Nhlanhla Nene

Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Nhlanhla Nene has held this position since 5 November 2008. He is also the Chairperson of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC). Before taking up his present position, he was the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Finance from August 2005 until 4 November 2008 and the Co-Chairperson of the Joint Budget Committee from October 2002 until August 2005. Mr Nene has been a Member of Parliament since June 1999. He was a Member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup. Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Nhlanhla Nene holds numerous qualifications including a Diploma in Marketing Management from DMS; an Advanced Diploma in Economic Policy from the University of the Western Cape; a Certificate in Economics from the University of South Africa; Course in Evaluating Macroeconomic Strategies from Williams College (CDE) in the USA; Certificate in Macro and Micro Economics from the University of London and B.Com Honours in Economics from the University of Western Cape.

Directions from OR Tambo International Airport
From OR Tambo International Airport, take the R24 towards Johannesburg. At the Gillooly's Interchange, take the N3 to Pretoria / Bryanston (Eastern Bypass). Take the Marlboro turn off and turn left. Continue to the end of Marlboro Drive until you reach a T-junction.
Turn left into Katherine Drive. Drive under the bridge. Travel through about 2 traffic intersections and turn right into West Street. Turn left into the Michelangelo Hotel entrance.
Directions from Pretoria
From Pretoria, take the M1 towards Johannesburg. Pass the turn offs towards Germiston / Durban (N3) and Roodepoort / Bloemfontein (N1). Take the Grayston Drive off ramp and turn right. Drive over the M1 S Highway. Continue over the bridge until you reach Rivonia Road.
Turn left into Rivonia Road and pass the Village Walk Shopping Centre. Pass Sandton Cargo Motors and turn right into West Street. Continue and turn left into the Michelangelo Hotel entrance.
